BARTON JOINS PRSA IDAHO TO SUPPORT STUDENT OUTREACH

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — September 25, 2024 — The Idaho Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA Idaho) has announced a new Eastern Idaho appointment for its board of directors. Janet Barton, marketing and events coordinator at BYU-Idaho’s Career Center, will serve as PRSA Idaho’s Student Outreach and Development Coordinator.

In this role, Barton will lead PRSA Idaho’s outreach to communications students across the state. She will create programs and events to connect Eastern Idaho students to PRSA Idaho resources, professionals and opportunities that will help prepare them for their future careers.

Barton has extensive experience in higher education, communications and event planning. In her current role, she promotes BYU-Idaho’s Career Center and connects students to employers, recruiters and graduate schools. Previously, she worked for APG Events, a division of Adams Publishing Group, where she helped produce a variety of conferences, including the Idaho Healthcare Summit and the Wyoming Energy Summit. Barton was also the Programs and Events Manager at the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce, where she managed and promoted more than 50 Chamber events and programs annually. She graduated with honors from BYU with her bachelor’s degree in Communications and Public Relations and is a graduate of the Leadership Idaho Falls program.
