About PRSA Idaho

Idaho PRSA

The Idaho chapter of The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) serves public relations and communications professionals throughout the state.  Our mission is to provide our members with quality programs focused on education, community engagement, career enhancement and professional development.

 

PRSA Idaho meets monthly for an assortment of educational programs, networking events, and social functions.  There are a variety of opportunities to participate with PRSA and our members are encouraged to hold leadership roles within the organization.

PRSA Highlights

  • In 2002, PRSA first established its Advocacy Advisory Board (AAB) to involve the community in advocating for the public relations profession.

  • Nine out of 10 PRSA members are full time employees, and three quarters hold positions with significant levels of managerial responsibility. (PRSA National,2014)

  • PRSA has over 100 chapters and is divided into 10 districts.

  • PRSA’s affiliated student organization, Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) has over 10,000 members and has chapters at over 300 colleges and universities in the U.S. and abroad.

  • PRSA acknowledges public relations excellence through a variety of award programs. The highest award is the Silver Anvil, which “represents the pinnacle of achievement and the highest standards of performance in the public relations profession."

  • PRSA National defines public relations as "a strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their publics."

  • PRSA members have access to more than 2,000 public relations, communications and marketing job postings.
